Churrolandia Bakery was owned in the early 70's and 80's by both of my
parents, Raul M. Chavez and Olga G. Chavez - in East Los Angeles. The
address was 2522 1/2 E. First Street. Then my father past away and we could not take on the business.
Later, in 2003 I graduated from UC Berkeley with a major in Mass
Communications. When I was in college my goal was to start up this bakery and take it to a greater level than just selling churros. Churrolandia Bakey and The Funnel Cake Factory has the taste and the food pleasures of the world--Churros from Spain; Funnel Cakes from Pennsylvania; Tamales and pan dulce from Mexico; Baked empanadas from Argentina; Boba from Taiwan. This World Bakery has all the treats that you can find at Disney World and MORE.
Lastly, we are unique in Southern California because all of
our pastry is Non-Transfat and the tamales are not cooked with pork lard - but with natural oils.
